Professor Vitor Luiz Produces Untold Story of Iran Through the Art of Ballet

For one night only, witness the beauty and power of Persian ballet in a performance that tells the story of an ancient nation through the eyes of an inner child. The White Feather, presented by INTUITV ARTSHIP, celebrates the Persian New Year and the fight for freedom of expression in Iran.

The ballet tells the story of the Iranian National Ballet and the freedom fighters of Iran, who have been fighting for their right to express themselves freely since 1979, when their art was stripped from them. 

Through the eyes of a child, the audience is taken on a journey through Iran's ancient roots to the present day, shedding light on the country's history and evolution.

Act One of the production pays tribute to Iran's National Ballet and other heroes of Iran's first revolution. Act Two showcases a child's transformation into adulthood under an oppressive regime and the fire within that sparked a nation's call to freedom led by women.

The White Feather is the inaugural production of INTUITV ARTSHIP, founded by Tara Ghassemieh and Vitor Luiz, assistant professor of dance in the Department of Dance, in partnership with Sanaz Solitani. The production features legendary Iranian artists and is dedicated to the current revolution and fight for "Women, Life, Freedom."

Ballet is a universal language that speaks to our souls without words, and The White Feather is a beautiful example of this. Due to mature themes and topics, the event is recommended for ages 12 and up.
