Celebrating a Remarkable Year and Embracing a Bright Future

Dear Friends,

As we approach the end of an incredible year, I am filled with gratitude and admiration for the exceptional accomplishments we have achieved together. It has been an honor to serve as the new Dean of the Claire Trevor School of the Arts and witness the remarkable talent, passion and dedication that flows through every corner of our vibrant community.

Reflecting on the past year, I am thrilled to announce that we have hosted over 200 inspiring exhibitions and performances, showcasing the immense creativity and artistic brilliance of our students, faculty and staff, many of which you will see showcased in the attached video. These events have not only enriched our campus but also fostered a deep connection with our wider community. I am immensely proud of the positive impact we have made through these interactions.

Equally important, our engagements with countless donors and community members have been instrumental in building solid partnerships and fostering meaningful relationships. Your support and generosity have allowed us to expand our horizons and create more opportunities for our talented students to thrive and excel. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to each and every person who has contributed to our shared success. It is because of your dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment that our school shines as a beacon of artistic excellence.

Moving forward, I will continue my commitment to intentionally nurture a vibrant and inclusive community where every individual can flourish and belong. My focus remains on fostering an environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and artistic exploration. Together, we will continue to place our students at the heart of everything we do by lifting their visions and voices and providing them with the resources, guidance and mentorship they need to advance their full potential as artists and creative leaders.

Looking toward the new academic year, I am filled with enthusiasm and anticipation for the incredible journey that lies ahead. I cannot wait to further our mission of supporting arts research and creative activity as we explore new frontiers, challenge conventions, and inspire the world with our artistic contributions—the academic lifeblood of our institution and a future where the arts hold central importance. Behind every innovation, there is a creator. By harnessing our collective talents and working together, we will continue to shape the future of the arts and make an indelible mark on our society, from Orange County to globally.
